Terry Martinez appointed Maintenance Craft NBA
Union
Brothers and Sisters, I would like to take this opportunity to address you, but
first, I would like to applaud Brother Bennie Frizzell, for his devotion and
contribution to the American Postal Workers Union. His firm
Unionism will always be remembered, and needless to say, definitely a big
fulfillment for his replacement. I wish him the best of everything in his
retirement years.
I’ve been appointed to the position of National Business Agent ‘B’, effective on November 22, 2002. I will strive to maintain the high standards of representation as did Brother Bennie Frizzell. I have been in various locals in the Southern Region by arbitration assignments, offered assistance in developing grievances, and supplied materials referencing respective issues. As I informed the stewards then, that if I could be of assistance not hesitate to call, no different policy in this respective position.
I started my United States Postal Service career as a Level 6 M.P.E. at the Dallas Bulk Mail Center (BMC) December 7, 1985.
I became a Union representative when elected to a Dallas, Texas Area Local position, as a BMC Business Agent, June 14, 1992. Appointed to the vacant Maintenance Craft Director’s position, June 13, 1993, and maintained that status throughout the election process. As a Maintenance Craft Director for the Dallas, Texas Area Local, I held the attitude as fair, consistent, and persistent representation in our Maintenance issues.
As for my appointment, I assure you that I will continue to maintain my laborious work, and dedication in the representation of the Maintenance Craft.
It gives me great pleasure to serve as your National Business Agent for the Southern Region.
The Struggle Never Ends.
