LEGISLATIVE DIRECTOR

Mike Sturm |
Dear Local President: My
name is Mike Sturm and I am the new Legislative Aide for the TPWU.
I am currently in the process of developing a legislative network
for Would you please mail or email me your legislative person or designee’s contact information? I would like to get the person’s name, title, address, email, and phone number. I am going to use this network to open a line of communication among the locals and the state organization. To those who want to participate, Ill be sending information to them about current legislative issues that concern the membership along with suggestions and example material that can be put directly to use.
To show you what I’m talking about I’ve enclosed some example material for a current issue, six day mail delivery. There are two versions of letters you could send to Senators Cornyn and Hutchison and your Congressman, there are some mail cards you could have printed and pass out to friends and family to sign and mail in, and there is also an ad that the Lubbock Area Local recently put in our local newspaper. Finally I’ve included a smaller version of a poster we’ve put up around town. I would also like to use the network to hear from locals. Some locals are active already in legislative issues, and may have ideas they would like to pass on to other locals in the state. Additionally, if you plan on having any informational pickets please let me know. Nearly every local has other locals that are close enough that with advance notice we could get them to come and participate. By working together we can be much more effective. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours in Solidarity, Michael J Sturm Legislative Aide
